Pages, from what I can tell, is subject to Apple's interference on a regular basis. I'm open to alternatives, with an emphasis on compatibility. This doesn't really foster a good work flow. There is a slightly clunky way around this that I haven't quite figured out, whereby I copy a made-online google doc file, and then type offline into the copy, but then google drive gets very confused and either reads it as the original file when opened in Chrome, or after a delay, uploads the retitled copy file. My ultimate goal is to be able to create a doc file while offline, add text, and then have it sync next time I'm online again. Desktop Google Drive apps that once existed for OS now no longer exist. There is a dearth of information about how to do this, and nearly all of it is outdated. I deeply dislike the idea of paying Microsoft $10/mo for their product, and it would be idea for for me to use Google Docs as a replacement. Now that I've graduated, my student subscription to Microsoft Office has been cut off by my university.
